Just a drill: Smoke likely during exercise near Atlanta airport
Residents and visitors may see thick black smoke near the airport today. But don’t be alarmed: it’s just a drill.
The Atlanta Fire Rescue Department is conducting its yearly live airport fire drill this morning near Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport.
The drill, which will also be conducted May 13 and May 20, is from 8 a.m. to noon at 860 Lake Mirror Road.
The Federal Aviation Administration requires the drill.
Officials say the training sessions could cause heavy black smoke in the area.
