A DeKalb County school bus crashed into a ditch while students were on board Monday morning, officials said.

The wreck happened just after 7 a.m. on Bouldercrest Road near I-285, according to police. DeKalb County School District spokeswoman Eileen Houston-Stewart said emergency medical technicians responded to the crash.

No serious injuries were reported, DeKalb police spokesman Sgt. J.D. Spencer said.

While it is not clear how the bus ended up in the ditch, Spencer said the crash involved an SUV.

The bus was headed to Cedar Grove Elementary School, which is about a mile and a half from the site of the crash.

Police shut down a portion of Bouldercrest Road to get the bus back on the street.
