Jury selection began Tuesday in the murder trial of one of the three men accused of killing a 19-year-old Milton man for his gold chain.

Yvette Jones, spokeswoman for Fulton County District Attorney Paul Howard, said that according to the investigation, Richard Davidson, along with two other men, Michael Grant and Matthew Goins, spotted the victim at a nearby Taco Bell wearing a gold chain.

“The indictment alleges that the defendants then followed the victim to his Milton home,” Jones said.

“As Mr. Walker exited his car, defendant Davidson allegedly approached the victim and attempted to snatch his gold chain,” according to Jones. “A struggle ensued and shots were fired. Walker was struck in the head and later died at the hospital.”

Fulton Superior Court Judge Kimberly Esmond Adams is presiding over this week’s trial of 22-year-old Davidson.

Trial is still pending against Grant, 24, and Goins, 21.
