July 4th in Atlanta: Where to see parades, fireworks, live music

Celebrate America's independence today at one of the many parades, festivals and fireworks displays in and around the metro area.

REMINDER: Roads are closed around the AJC Peachtree Road Race. And other big events may require a detour. Check for road updates on 95.5 FM and AM 750 WSB. On Twitter, follow @ajcwsbtraffic

The Dunwoody 4th of July Parade. Parade steps off at 9 a.m. July 4 at the intersection of Mount Vernon Road and Jett Ferry Road. www.dunwoodyga.org.

Cumming Steam Engine Parade. 10 a.m. July 4 at Tribble Gap and Woodland Drive. Cumming Fairgrounds.

Decatur’s Pied Piper Parade. The parade ends with a family-friendly event downtown on the square where all can settle-in and enjoy a firework. Parade lineup at 5:30 p.m. July 4 at First Baptist Church of Decatur. The concert starts at 7 p.m. and the fireworks begin after dark.   www.visitdecaturgeorgia.com.
4th in the Park Celebration on Marietta Square. Parade begins at 10 a.m. July 4 at Roswell Street Baptist Church and travels west on Roswell Street, north on East Park Square past Glover Park and the Square, down Cherokee Street and ends at North Marietta.
Fourth Celebration at Centennial Olympic Park. Gates open at 6 p.m. July 4. Fireworks begina at around 9 p.m. Free. Centennial Olympic Park, 265 Park Ave, West N.W., Atlanta. centennialpark.com
