Johns Creek schedules drug disposal event

Johns Creek will participate in a national program to safely dispose of unwanted pharmaceutical drugs on Saturday. Anyone with unwanted controlled substances or medicines can turn them in anonymously to the Johns Creek Police Department from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the Target parking lot, 5950 State Bridge Road.

Since the first event in 2011, the DEA and its local partners have removed 2 million pounds of expired or unused prescription medications from circulation.
