A group of out-of-town jewelers foiled an attempt by two men to rob them at a jewelry expo at an Alpharetta hotel, police said.

Authorities released surveillance video of the incident Wednesday.

The jewelers, two of whom are from Charlotte and two who live in India, were loading their jewelry into a van after the show at the Marriott Hotel on Windward Parkway on April 29 when two men pulled up to their vehicle in a Toyota 4Runner, according to the Alpharetta police incident report.

The two men pepper-sprayed the jewelers and grabbed for the bags holding the jewelry, but the jewelers fought and got the jewelry back. In the ensuing scuffle, one of the robbers had some of his clothes ripped off, the report said, before they drove away.
