A Fulton County man has been arrested in connection with his ex-wife’s Wednesday morning shooting death.

Union City police spokeswoman Gloria Hodgson announced Wednesday afternoon that 53-year-old William Lee Sankey had been charged with the death of 42-year-old Rhonda Williams. Sankey, Williams’ ex-husband, is charged with felony murder, aggravated assault, cruelty to children, false imprisonment and possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime.

Officers responded to a person shot call on the 4700 block of Main Street at about 12:45 a.m. Wednesday and found Williams dead. Both of Williams’ children were home during the shooting, which Hodgson said was “the result of a domestic incident.”

“Williams was shot multiple times after an apparent argument with her ex-husband,” Hodgson said.

Sankey lived at the residence with Williams, Hodgson said.

Bond was denied Thursday and Sankey remains in the Fulton County jail, sheriff’s office spokeswoman Tracy Flanagan said.
