Human remains found in Floyd County

An investigation was launched by Floyd County police after human remains were discovered in a subdivision off Kingston Highway on Friday.

Crime scene investigators were called to the scene after the remains were found around 1 p.m. in a wooded area off Everwood Court, the police department said in a news release.

Neither the identity nor the gender of the remains has been determined.
