Henry County police were looking Tuesday morning for a vehicle that struck a 28-year-old bicyclist without stopping.

About 7:30 p.m. Feb. 7, an unidentified woman was riding her bicycle on Rocky Creek Road when a vehicle hit her from behind and kept going, Sgt. Joey Smith said in an emailed statement to The Atlanta Journal-Constitution.

She “was riding her bike southbound on the right side of the road,” he said. “She can’t remember the direction of travel of the suspect vehicle due to being knocked unconscious.”

However, authorities did find vehicle parts matching a green, 1996‐2000 model Honda Civic EX at the scene of the hit-and-run.

“The vehicle should have damage to the passenger side and will be missing the passenger side mirror,” Smith said.

The woman, who was taken to Atlanta Medical Center with non-life threatening injuries, has been released from the hospital, he said.

Anyone with information is asked to call 770‐288‐8281.
