Two Gwinnett County teenagers were arrested after allegedly robbing three college students during a Craigslist sale, according to police. Now, investigators are working to determine if the same two suspects are responsible for similar crimes in the area, police said Thursday.

David and Shaun Allen, both Mountain View High School students who live at the same Buford address, were charged with robbery by sudden snatching when they were arrested last week, according to police reports. No other charges have been filed against the two, but that could change if they are linked to other robberies, Cpl. Jake Smith with Gwinnett police said.

The Allens and another teen were allegedly meeting three University of North Georgia students, who were attempting to purchase a PlayStation 4, at a neighborhood pool in Buford, according to police. A UNG student found the seller of the gaming system on Craigslist, the police report states.

When the buyer handed over the cash, one of the suspects grabbed it and ran without handing over the game system, according to police. At some point, one suspect displayed a gun. The college students called police and were able to catch the suspects before officers arrived.

A weapon was not found, Smith said Thursday. And the third teenager was not charged in connection to the incident. No injuries were reported, and the college student was able to get his money back.

Both Allens were released early Saturday after posting $5,700 bond each, Gwinnett jail records showed.

The robbery is the latest in the metro area related to the Craigslist site, leading many police agencies to urge transactions take place in public places, such as police stations. In late January, Bud and June Runion, of Marietta, were killed after driving to Telfair County to meet a man who claimed he was selling an antique Ford Mustang, according to police.
