A gun was found Tuesday at Peachtree Ridge High School, school officials said.

According to a letter sent to parents from Peachtree Ridge principal Kevin Tashlein, school officials were tipped off Tuesday morning that a male student was carrying a weapon.

A quick investigation revealed another student gave him the unloaded handgun, Tashlein said in the letter obtained by Channel 2 Action News.

Both students were arrested by school resource officers and will face school disciplinary action as well as criminal charges, Tashlein said.

Neither student has been identified because they are juveniles, authorities said.
