The Fulton County grand jury hearing an election interference case against former President Donald Trump and others appears to be moving faster than initially planned.

George Chidi, an independent journalist who was originally asked to testify on Tuesday morning, tweeted Monday afternoon that he was told to appear today. “They’re moving faster than they thought,” Chidi said on X, the social media site previously known as Twitter.

Chidi stumbled upon the meeting of “alternate” electors in the Georgia Capitol on Dec. 14, 2020, an incident of major interest to Fulton District Attorney Fani Willis.

Jurors have already heard testimony from at least three other witnesses: Gabe Sterling, a top official in the Secretary of State’s office; former state Rep. Bee Nguyen; and ex-state Sen. Jen Jordan.
