Calvin Peete, one of the most successful black professional golfers prior to Tiger Woods joining the PGA tour, has died.

Peete, 71, won 12 PGA tournaments over a 25-year career on the tour that began in 1976, and continued on the Champions Tour until 2001. His most successful year was 1982, when he won four tournaments. He died earlier this week, according to Channel 2 Action News.
