An 8-year-old girl was flown to Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta at Scottish Rite just before noon Friday after the golf cart she was riding in near Lake Lanier overturned, police said.
The girl was pinned under the cart after it overturned on top of her. She was conscious and breathing prior to being flown to the hospital.
The cart was travelling north down Shoreland Drive when it traveled off the road, down an embankment and overturned. The eight year old was unrestrained and thrown from the vehicle. The cart was being driven by a 12-year-old girl.
