On Sunday, a 3-year-old child was killed when a family member ran over the child while pulling out of the driveway at a southwest Georgia home.

The Georgia State Patrol is investigating the fatal incident, according to news station WALB News 10. About 12:30 p.m. Sunday, police were called to the home in the 100 block of Augusta Avenue in Thomasville.

The toddler was pronounced dead at the scene. Witnesses say the child was playing in the yard when the loved one ran over the child.

The driver told police they did not see the child. There were no charges filed as Tuesday.
