Just before Nick Grizzle walked down the aisle to marry his soon-to-be wife on Saturday, he came to the sudden realization that he didn’t know how to fix his tie.

That’s when Savannah Police Detective Kaishawn Samuell stepped in to save the day.

Samuell was working off duty at the couple’s wedding in Forsyth Park.

“I had this woman come up, ‘Officer, officer, officer!’” Samuell told WTOC.

“I’m like, ‘Yes, ma’am?’ ‘Do you know how to tie a tie?’ And when she said that I smiled, I’m like, ‘OK, I thought something happened. Yes, I can tie a tie.’”

With Nick’s tie picture-perfect, the wedding went on.

It may have seemed hectic at the moment, but now it’s something Nick and Carson can laugh about.

“I just think it’s funny. It was just a little good luck for us,” Carson, the bride, told WTOC.

The groom’s mother wrote on Facebook, “Thank God for this wonderful kind man! My son will always be thankful to him and so will I.”
