Police in Middle Georgia have identified a man they describe as “a person of interest” in the killings of three women and a 2-year-old girl earlier this month.

In a statement sent to news outlets Thursday evening, Perry police said Michael James Jordan was being held at the Houston County jail on charges unrelated to the April 4 slayings. Allegations include aggravated stalking, possession of marijuana with intent to distribute and a violation of probation.

Jail records show Jordan, 34, has been incarcerated since April 5, the day after Beaulah Robinson, 82; Tuquondea Robinson, 37; Michelle Joiner, 51, and A’laoiah Joiner, 2 were discovered dead in a mobile home on Perry’s southwest side.

In their statement Thursday, the police noted that Jordan “has not been charged” in the killings and their investigation “remains active and ongoing.”

The police previously said three of the victims were stabbed and one died of suffocation, and they believe their assailant “knew the family.”

In court documents, Jordan’s address is listed as the same Gaines Drive mobile home where the victims were found. On Tuesday, his attorney for the charges he currently faces filed a motion for bond, but Jordan has yet to go before a Superior Court judge.
