Gunna, a GRAMMY Award-nominated, multiplatinum-selling rapper from Atlanta, is scheduled to perform during halftime of Wednesday’s Atlanta Hawks game against the Boston Celtics at State Farm Arena, the NBA team announced in a news release.

The game, presented by Planet Fitness, will tip off at 7:30 p.m. and feature the first in-game concert of the season.

“I’m excited to perform on the court of my home team,” Gunna said in the news release. “Having the chance to also give back to the community through this performance means so much to me. Forever I Love Atlanta. Go Hawks!”

As part of this special performance, Gunna is bringing guests to the game as part of community outreach, the Hawks said in the release. The College Park-based artist is teaming up with the Hawks to create a limited-edition, co-branded shirt, which will be available in the Hawks Shop. The Hawks also are donating shirts to Gunna Drip Closet, the NBA team said.

Gunna Drip Closet, which launched earlier this year, features vegan options, shelf-stable foods, frozen meals, fresh produce, snacks, toiletries, shoes and clothing. Students at Ronald E. McNair Middle School in Atlanta have daily access to these items, free of charge, and can take them home to their families, according to the Hawks.

Gunna hit the Billboard 200 for the first time with “2018, Drip Season 3,” featuring guest appearances from Lil Yachty, Lil Uzi Vert and Metro Boomin, according to the release. Within 10 months, Gunna returned beside Lil Baby with “Drip Harder,” which went to No. 4, highlighted by “Drip Too Hard,” his first platinum-certified record, the NBA team said.

Gunna’s sophomore album, “WUNNA,” dropped in May 2020. The project featured collaborations with Roddy Ricch, Lil Baby and Young Thug, among others, and entered the Billboard 200 at No. 1, according to the Hawks.

Previous in-game performances at Hawks games have included 2 Chainz, Future, Rae Sremmurd, Lecrae and Koryn Hawthorne, the Hawks said.
