Irritated by responses to an earlier remark that he would exit the GOP presidential campaign if his poll numbers tanked, Republican front-runner Donald Trump has modified his stance, saying that he's "never getting out" of the the race for president.

Trump made the new declaration on "Morning Joe."

"I made this statement that, 'Well, if I could see I wasn't going to win, and if my numbers were really terrible, and if you wouldn't call [for interviews], and everybody's not calling, if I saw it wasn't going to happen, of course I would [drop out],'" said Trump.

He said it was "ridiculous" that some were speculating that he would leave the race, based on his remark that he would leave if his numbers tanked.

"I'll give more of a political answer," he said on the show. "I'm never getting out."
His statement begins at 10:10 in the video below.
