Forsyth County sheriff’s investigators Wednesday asked for the public’s help locating a woman wanted in connection with a violent February home invasion that left a 70-year-old woman hospitalized.

Suspects later identified as Decatur residents Corey Waithe, 25, and Samira Young, 28, allegedly forced their way into the victim’s home near Pilgrim Mill Road on Feb. 2 in an apparent burglary attempt, Forsyth sheriff’s Deputy Robin Regan said.

“The victim confronted the subjects, who shot her multiple times,” Regan said. “The victim was hospitalized and survived her injuries.”

He said Waithe was later shot multiple times by another homeowner during a similar home invasion in Fulton County, and was arrested and remains in the Fulton County Jail.

Young remains at large, Regan said.

He said Waithe and Young are also suspects in two other residential burglaries in Forsyth County on the same date.

Regan asked that anyone with information on Young call Crime Stoppers Atlanta at 404-577-TIPS.
