An on-duty Forsyth County police officer was injured in a fall Thursday morning at Central Park.

Sgt. Matt Runion had injuries to his head and shoulders after falling off his sheriff’s office mountain bike, but specifics of the situation are still unknown, according to Forsyth County Sheriff’s office spokesperson Doug Rainwater. Runion was transported to North Fulton Hospital where they ran tests and has since been released.

He was on a dirt trail near the 2000 block of Keith Bridge Road when the incident occurred, and a second deputy who was with him called for an ambulance immediately.
