A former Rockdale Sheriff deputy has been arrested on charges of child molestation, rape and enticing a child for indecent purposes, according to Gwinnett County jail records

Gwinnett Police arrested Jason Larry Eubanks, 46 of Lawrenceville, last week. He has a preliminary hearing scheduled for Friday to determine if he should get a bond.

Charges have grown against Eubanks and became more specific as Gwinnett investigators have continued to investigate. It began as a case of sexual exploitation of children when the arrest warrant was sworn out Thursday, according to court records.

His case now includes charges of rape, aggravated sexual battery, and distribution of child pornography, according to jail records.

Rockdale Corporal Michael Camp confirmed Eubanks was hired as a deputy in February 2010 and terminated in August 2012 for “unsatisfactory work performance.”

His lawyer Thomas S. Clegg said he was just appointed to the case and has not yet met with his client.
