The FBI said Thursday its upping reward money to to $10,000 to catch a rapist prowling Peach County.

The federal agency is adding $7, 500 to the pot — bumping up the $2.500 already offered by Fort Valley and Peach County authorities.

The increase comes on the heels of another rape and another attempted rape and five break-ins all within three days, which increased concerns first sparked by attacks last month. In April, five homes were broken into and two women were raped, saidFBI Special Agent Stephen Emmett. Three fought off their attacker who fled, Emmett said.

Authorities are trying to determine if one man is possibly responsible for the attacks. They have formed the Peach County Sexual Assault Task Force , composed of the sheriff, Fort Valley police, Fort Valley State University Campus Police and the Georgia Bureau of Investigation.
