The family of a Gwinnett County shot to death in his home is hoping an increased reward will lead to answers in the 27-year-old’s killing.

Bryan Ritzert died Sept. 2 in what police have said may have been a robbery. Ritzert’s roommates reported hearing a commotion during the overnight hours, but did not discover the crime until hours later, according to Cpl. Jake Smith with Gwinnett police. Ritzert had been shot to death inside the Falling Water Lane home, near Norcross.

On Friday, the victim’s family added $5,000 to the reward for information leading to the arrest and conviction for the person responsible for the death, Smith said. The reward is in addition to $2,000 offered by Crime Stoppers.

Anyone with information on the case is asked to contact detectives at 770-513-5300 or Crime Stoppers at 404-557-TIPS (8477). Tipsters can remain anonymous.
