Nearly a week after the Nov. 6 Georgia general election, the race for governor was still up in the air, and a number of other races on the ballot were likely to be settled by recounts and / or runoff elections.

Runoff elections are required under Georgia law if no candidate wins a majority of the vote. The runoff election for state and local races will be Dec. 4, 2018.

A recount can be ordered for any election race in which the margin of victory was  less than 1 percent.
