Election Day left some key Georgia races undecided

The gap between Brian Kemp and Stacey Abrams has shrunk a bit

Nearly a week after the Nov. 6 Georgia general election, the race for governor was still up in the air, and a number of other races on the ballot were likely to be settled by recounts and / or runoff elections.

Runoff elections are required under Georgia law if no candidate wins a majority of the vote. The runoff election for state and local races will be Dec. 4, 2018.

A recount can be ordered for any election race in which the margin of victory was  less than 1 percent.

Among the races still to be settled as of Nov. 12:

The early voting period for the Dec. 4 runoff will be Monday, Nov. 26 through Friday, Nov. 30. Choose a link for more information about early voting in Clayton, Cobb, DeKalb, Fulton, Gwinnett or another county.
