An elderly Marietta man died Friday when he was hit by a pickup truck while trying to cross a Cobb County road, police said.
Orlando Milian, 77, was attempting to cross Sandy Plains Road at Broussard Way shortly before 7 a.m. when he was hit by a 2004 Ford F-150 that was westbound on Sandy Plains, Cobb police spokesman Mike Bowman said.
Milam was taken to WellStar Kennestone Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
Bowman said the intersection does not have a traffic signal or marked crosswalks, and the driver of the truck, 35-year-old Jose Silva of Marietta, is not being charged.
