A major downtown interstate ramp has reopened after being shut down for a couple of hours Friday morning when a patch of ice formed in the subfreezing temperatures.
Police blocked off the ramp from I-75/85 southbound to I-20 east and westbound, according to the WSB 24-hour Traffic Center.
The ramp reopened just before 7:30 a.m.
Temperatures at 7 a.m. ranged from 25 in Dallas and 26 in Dunwoody, Alpharetta and Cartersville to 28 in Chamblee, Peachtree City and Marietta and 29 at Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport.
Channel 2 Action News meteorologist Katie Walls said highs Friday afternoon will be around 50 degrees under partly cloudy skies.
The dry weather will continue through the weekend, with a slight chance of rain forecast for early next week.
Walls said highs will be in the upper 50s Saturday and mid-60s Sunday, with morning lows in the low 30s Saturday and low 40s Sunday.
There’s a 10 percent chance of rain Monday, increasing to 20 percent Tuesday, Walsh said. Highs will be in the 60s both days, with morning lows around 50.
