Numbers were drawn late Tuesday for the $636 million Mega Millions jackpot. Now, the waiting begins to find out if there’s a winner.
The winning numbers were 8-20-14-17-39 and the Gold Mega Ball was 7.
Early Tuesday, the Mega Millions jackpot jumped from $586 million to $636 million, Georgia Lottery officials said.
No one matched all six numbers Friday night, when the jackpot stood at $425 million. Nine people matched the first five numbers – 19, 24, 26, 27, 70 – but not the Mega Ball of 12. Those players, two each in Florida, Michigan and New York, and one each in Colorado, Connecticut and New Jersey, won $1 million.
The jackpot, which began rolling on Oct. 4, has rolled 21 times. Tuesday’s announcement came one day after lottery officials raised the jackpot from $550 million to $586 million.
Mega Millions offers two jackpot payment options: the $636 million annuity prize paid out as one immediate payment followed by 29 annual graduated payments or a cash option of about $341 million, officials said.
