The DeKalb County Commission recently agreed to pay for landscaping work, including new plants, along Moreland Avenue.

The county is paying a contractor $187,450 for the work between Bailey Street and Cedar Grove Road. The area is home to several industrial properties that are adjacent to several densely populated neighborhoods.

The landscaping is the latest in several government and resident efforts to improve the look of the west DeKalb area. Work is slated to begin this fall.
