Three Rome men are in federal custody after an operation in the Cartersville area, a spokesman with the FBI said Saturday afternoon.

“A federal search warrant is underway in the Cartersville-Rome area as part of a FBI operation that occurred earlier today in that area,” Stephen Emmett told The Atlanta Journal-Constitution.

Terry Eugene Peace, 45; Brian Edward Cannon, 36; and Cory Williamson, 28, were arrested on federal firearms and explosives related charges, he said.

“More charges are anticipated and additional details will be made available in the next few days as this matter moves into the court system,” Emmett said.

Reports surfaced on Twitter that the operation took place at the Cartersville Walmart, but company spokeswoman Brooke Buchanan said the incident took place in the parking lot and “had nothing to do with Walmart customers or Walmart associates.”

FBI SWAT, Rome police and Floyd County police officers were part of the operation, Emmett said. The Bartow County Sheriff’s Office also assisted.
