A suspect accused of arson and aggravated assault at a home in McDonough on Thursday has been arrested, police said.

Police on Tuesday confirmed they have located and arrested a man who allegedly broke into a home in McDonough last week and eventually set it on fire.

Titus Lorenzo Murray, who was wanted on arson, aggravated assault and theft charges, allegedly forced his way inside the Parkside Way residence Thursday between the hours of 4:45 a.m. and 5:45 a.m., according to McDonough police. The residential neighborhood is located in the southwest part of the Henry County city near I-75.

According to investigators, the 25-year-old entered the home, stole several items and placed an accelerant throughout its bottom level, which he set ablaze. The suspect then took a 2020 gray Hyundai Sonata from the victim, who was not publicly identified, and drove away.

The house suffered minor damage and no injuries were reported, McDonough police Maj. Kyle Helgerson told The Atlanta Journal-Constitution. A motive has not been determined, he said, and it was unknown if the suspect knew the victim.

“The investigation is still very fluid at this point,” Helgerson said.

Murray was arrested Sunday at a McDonald’s and booked into the Henry County Jail, where he is facing four counts of aggravated assault and one count each of arson, burglary and theft by taking.

As of Tuesday, the victim’s vehicle had not been found, authorities said. Anyone who recognizes it is asked to contact McDonough police at 678-782-6309.
