Enjoy the warm, mostly sunny weather for the rest of the weekend before the rain comes this week.

“By Sunday morning, we’ll wake up into the 50s all around North Georgia,” said Channel 2 Action News meteorologist Eboni Deon.

For Atlanta residents, the morning starts in the high 50s and partly cloudy skies. As the day progresses, temperatures continue to rise with a high of 80 degrees. The day will end with clear, sunny skies.

A light wind will persist throughout the day at 10 to 15 mph.

“We have a front moving in. With that front, we’re going to be tracking rain and storms,” said Deon.

As we move into the beginning of the week, there’s a 40% chance of rain for Monday and Tuesday. The chances double on Wednesday with 80% chance of rain.

Sunday drivers will have to bear with a few obstacles on the road. Delays and lane closures throughout the metro area could slow you down if you’re not careful.

Filming of the TV series “Kandi and the Gang” will force lane closures in downtown Atlanta along Peters Street. A southbound parking lane will be closed all day beginning at 6 a.m. between Haynes and Magnum streets, near the Old Lady Gang Southern Cuisine restaurant.

In Fulton County, two southbound lanes of Ga. 237 will be closed from Morosgo Drive to Alpine Road.
