A 19-year-old has been arrested in connection with a deadly shooting in September inside a southwest Atlanta corner store.

Kortez Ragland faces several charges, including felony murder and malice murder. He is accused of shooting and killing Toddrick Lamar, 20, on Sept. 23 at the Family Grocery Store. The shop is located at 875 Metropolitan Parkway.

An 18-year-old man was also shot. He was taken to a hospital and survived.

At the time, police said an argument appeared to have broken out between the men, which led to guns being drawn. At least five combined shots were fired, officials said, and the victims and suspect appeared to know each other.

No customers were inside the store at the time of the shooting, but a few workers were inside.

“Bullets were flying, but they didn’t get hit,” Atlanta police homicide commander Lt. Andrew Smith said from the scene.

In addition to the murder charges, Ragland faces charges of aggravated assault and possessing a firearm during the commission of a felony.
