One man was killed and another was injured early Sunday after gunfire erupted at a home in northwest Atlanta, police said.

At about 12:10 a.m., Atlanta police got a call about two people shot in the 200 block of Chappell Road. The residence is between Joseph E. Boone Boulevard and Martin Luther King Jr. Drive in the Hunter Hills neighborhood.

When officers arrived, they found a 28-year-old man who was suffering from a gunshot wound and a 26-year-old who had been shot several times. The 28-year-old, identified as Deshawn L. Wagner by the Fulton County Medical Examiner’s Office, was pronounced dead at the scene.

The younger victim was taken to the hospital, where he is said to be stable.

No other details were released about the shooting or a suspect. The incident remains under investigation, police said.
