A 21-year-old woman was struck by a car and killed Wednesday evening while walking through Lula, authorities said.

State troopers were dispatched to the fatal pedestrian crash near City Hall about 7:30 p.m., the Georgia State Patrol said in a statement. The woman killed was identified as Lula resident Stacey Lynn Cash.

Investigators determined Cash was walking north on Main Street when a woman driving the opposite direction struck and killed her. Cash was wearing dark clothing and walking in the roadway when she was struck, police said.

The driver who hit her will not be charged.
