A 74-year-old Fayette County man was arrested last week on a child molestation charge, authorities said.

James H. Williams was taken into custody June 16 following an investigation at a home in the southern part of the county, authorities said.

The charge stems from an incident involving a child that occurred in early March, a spokesman for the sheriff’s office said.

Williams has since been released on a $27,720 bond, jail records show. No other details about the investigation have been released.
