A 19-year-old is charged with murder in connection with the deaths of a man and woman who were shot and killed last month in Social Circle, the GBI said.

According to investigators, Tommy Charles Webb Jr. was already in the Clarke County Jail on a probation violation when he was charged Monday in the fatal double shooting.

The bodies of 27-year-old James Robert Evans and 32-year-old Jaymine Whitlock were discovered early May 15 in the middle of rural Thurman Baccus Road, AJC.com previously reported.

Both died from apparent gunshot wounds, but few additional details about the case have been released.

Webb, who lives in Athens, faces one count of felony murder, one county of malice murder and one count of party to commit the crime of murder, the GBI said.

He remained in the Clarke County Jail on Wednesday afternoon, records show.
