A 17-year-old is facing charges after police said he accidentally shot his brother while showing him a gun in a Roswell fast-food restaurant.

Restaurant employees and other customers were inside the Steak ‘n Shake when the shooting happened, according to an incident report obtained by AJC.com.

Officers arrived at the restaurant at the 800 block of Woodstock Road just after 10 p.m. Saturday, the report said. When they arrived, they saw Shakir Abdullah’s brother with a gunshot wound in his left arm and an exit wound through his back.

Investigators determined the shooting was an accident. The gun was taken into evidence, police said.

The injured teen was taken to North Fulton Regional Hospital with injuries that were not life-threatening, the police report said. His brother was charged with unlawful possession of a pistol or revolver by a person under 18 and reckless conduct, according to jail records. Abdullah was booked into the Fulton County Jail Sunday and released the same day on $10,000 bond.
