A female worker was sexually assaulted at Emory University Hospital Midtown on Thursday night, Channel 2 Action News reported.

The alleged victim told Channel 2 she had been working for a cleaning service at the hospital for a few months but Thursday was the first time she’d worked the evening shift. Around 8:30 p.m., a man walked up to to her on the eighth floor, put something over her face and covered her mouth before assaulting her, she said.

The woman told Channel 2 she offered her assailant money.

“He said, ‘No I don’t want money. You’re very sexy,’” the woman said.

In a statement sent to Channel 2, the hospital said a “significant person of interest” had been identified and taken into custody on “separate charges.”

“Leadership is working with the Atlanta Police Department, Emory Police Department and Emory Healthcare Public Safety to implement new security strategies, including stepping up patrolling,” the statement said.

The alleged victim told Channel 2 she has quit her job.
