Cherokee County investigators are asking for the public's help to identify a man accused of exposing himself to a child.

A boy, whose age was not released, called 911 after a suspect approached him from behind bushes in the Deer Run subdivision, according to Brittany Duncan, spokeswoman for Woodstock police. The boy told police he was walking home on Running Deer Parkway around 9:10 p.m. Thursday when the man exposed himself, Duncan said.

Woodstock officers and the Cherokee County Sheriff's Office searched the area, but were unable to locate the suspect. Investigators do not believe the latest flashing incident is related to a March 26 report about a man allegedly attempting to abduct a boy who got off a school bus, Duncan said.

In the recent case, the suspect is described as a white male, 25 to 35 years old, with shaggy brown hair, police said. He was wearing a black tank top, blue jeans, and black shoes at the time of the incident.

A GBI forensic artist met with the victim in order to compose a sketch of the suspect. The sketch was released Tuesday.

Anyone with information about the suspect's identity is asked to contact Woodstock police at 770-592-6030. Callers can remain anonymous.
