Two metro Atlanta women were arrested after Cherokee County task-force agents say they forged prescriptions.

Cousins Annjenetta Mitchell, 26, of Atlanta, and Lawanda Mitchell, 36, of Stone Mountain, are facing forgery charges, according to a Facebook post by the Cherokee County Multi-Agency Narcotics Squad.

On Tuesday, Annjenetta Mitchell arrived to obtain a fake prescription but an agent was talking to a pharmacist, according to the post. She may have realized this and started to run toward the parking lot, according to the post.

An employee called 911, and nearby agents captured her and her alleged partner.

Officials later determined Lawanda Mitchell tried to pass a fake prescription at a pharmacy in Acworth, according to the post.

Lawanda Mitchell was charged with two counts of second-degree forgery, officials said.

Annjenetta Mitchell was charged with forgery, two counts of second-degree forgery and criminal attempt to acquire a controlled substance by fraud, officials said.
