A woman who allegedly shot and killed a man Wednesday in Clayton County was captured Thursday afternoon in DeKalb County, authorities said.
Ashanti Leandrea Dorsey, 21, fatally shot Dontavious Maurice Morrison in the 900 block of Lakeview Drive after a verbal altercation, Clayton County police said.
This came months after she was arrested in connection with a double shooting in the city of South Fulton.
She was caught Thursday on Panthersville Road and charged with felony murder and aggravated assault, police said. She was taken to the Clayton County jail.
“Ashanti is a known prostitute and is a suspect in a series of robberies of men that solicited her services off of the internet,” the Clayton County Sheriff’s Office said.
Before Dorsey was caught, it was the first time a woman had topped the county’s most wanted list, according to the sheriff’s office.
She was previously arrested on charges of aggravated assault and aggravated battery after she allegedly shot two women in South Fulton.
South Fulton police spokeswoman Ashley Minter-Osanyinbi said Dorsey shot the women in early June at a home in the 6800 block of Kimberly Mill Road after an ongoing dispute. The women were taken to Grady Memorial Hospital and are now recovering.
It is not clear how the South Fulton case stands.
