A woman was shot at a DeKalb County apartment complex in what police believe was a drug deal that turned deadly.
The victim, who was 24 years old, was found Monday night in the parking lot of the Grovewood Park Apartments on Hillandale Drive near Lithonia, according to DeKalb County police. She was pronounced dead shortly after authorities arrived about 11:30 p.m.

According to a detective at the scene, the woman appeared to have been shot inside a vehicle and collapsed when she tried to get out. Drugs were found inside the car, he said.
“There are no suspects in custody and the investigation is ongoing,” police spokesman Sgt. J.D. Spencer said Tuesday in a statement.
