Four months after a Newton County woman’s body was found under a bridge, officials have determined she was killed.

So far, no suspects have been named in Kelly Marshall’s death, which has been ruled homicide by asphyxia, Newton County Coroner Tommy Davis told The Atlanta Journal-Constitution.

“The circumstances of her death are still under investigation,” he said.

Marshall was found Aug. 12 under a bridge in the 200 block of Mt. Tabor Road in Covington, The AJC previously reported. The body was found by two kayakers, Channel 2 Action News reported.

Marshall’s boyfriend is known to frequent the area, Channel 2 reported, and it is believed Marshall was with him the Friday night before her body was found. Authorities have not said if the boyfriend, who was arrested after a Walton County police chase that weekend, is still a person of interest in the case.
