A woman attempting to make a left turn onto a street in her neighborhood collided with a motorcycle, ejecting and killing the driver, Gwinnett County police said Friday.

Wanda Patrice Berry, 48, was driving a tan Nissan Altima westbound on Jimmy Carter Boulevard around 7:20 p.m. Thursday and was preparing to turn left onto Hunters Club Lane, according to police.

Moeez Ul Haq Alvi, 26, was on a motorcycle traveling eastbound on Jimmy Carter Carter when Berry turned in front of him, police said. The Lilburn man was knocked from the motorcycle and died at the scene.

Berry was arrested and charged with vehicular homicide and failure to yield while turning left. She was booked into the Gwinnett jail, where she was being held Friday evening on $6,350 bond, records showed.

Investigators do not believe speed or alcohol were factors in the crash.
