Authorities are seeking two men who carjacked a woman at gunpoint early Thursday at a McDonald’s drive-thru in Brookhaven, police said. The men later crashed her BMW in Atlanta after leading Georgia State Patrol officers on a chase.

The incident happened in the 4000 block of Peachtree Road, according to Channel 2 Action News.

While sitting in her car in the drive-thru, the woman was approached by the two men, Brookhaven police spokesman Carlos Nino said. One was armed.

After the vehicle was stolen, GSP officers tried to pull it over for speeding on Buford Highway about 1:20 a.m., GSP spokeswoman Tracey Watson said. The GSP officers were unaware that the vehicle was involved in a carjacking.

The car crashed on a curve on Northside Drive, Watson said. The men ran away and remain at large. Atlanta police dogs were used in the search.

The woman was not injured, Nino said.
