A woman’s body was found floating in the lake at Fort Yargo State Park in Winder on Friday morning, police said.

Police and fire officials received a 911 call about 8:30 a.m., police spokesman Lt. Chris Cooper said. A man who had been fishing found the body near the beach area that’s designated for public swimming.

The body has been identified as Lynn Ann Bowen, 52, of Covington, Cooper said. Officers found a vehicle and personal items near the scene that belonged to the victim.

Foul play is not suspected, Cooper said. The investigation is ongoing.
