Investigators are looking into what led to the death of a woman whose body was found by a driver Sunday along Bankhead Highway in Villa Rica.

Villa Rica police told Channel 2 Action News the woman’s body was found in a wooded area near Cleghorn Street at 2:30 p.m.

Although there are train tracks in the area, police believe the incident was not a train-related fatality.

Police, who haven’t yet released the woman’s identity, say they are reading reports of missing women in the area for clues in the investigation.

Investigators haven’t determined the cause of death but do not believe the public is in danger, according to Channel 2.
