Atlanta police are searching for a man they said broke into a restaurant overnight and stole about $1,300.
The theft, which occurred July 22 at Bazati Restaurant in northeast Atlanta, was captured on the store’s surveillance cameras.
Footage appears to show the man open the door to the restaurant office and then use an employee’s shirt to hide his identity as he grabs the money. At one point, the man lowers the shirt just to enough for the camera to catch a glimpse of his face.

Officers spoke with the manager of the restaurant, who told him he left about 11:30 p.m. the night before. When he returned about 12 hours later, he noticed someone had entered the office and helped themselves to several bank deposit bags.
According to an Atlanta police report, the four bags containing money were being stored in an office safe with a broken lock. There was no sign of forced entry into the restaurant, police said, leading investigators to believe the suspect may have used a key to get inside.
The restaurant manager told officers other employees have keys to the business, but said the suspect in the video didn’t look familiar.
A cash reward has been offered for information leading to an arrest and indictment in the burglary case. Anyone who knows the identity of the man in the surveillance footage or his whereabouts is asked to contact Atlanta police. Information can also be submitted anonymously to the Crime Stoppers Atlanta tip line at 404-844-8477 or the Crime Stoppers website.
